Yankees Host First Sports Picks New York In-Stadium Promotion
Young Fans To Get Special Jeter/A-Rod Two-Pack During Sept. 1 Game
The New York Yankees have announced a McFarlane's Sports Picks in-stadium
promotion featuring a Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez custom 3-inch action
figure two-pack.
It will be given away on Sept. 1 to the first 18,000 fans ages 14 and under
through the gates. This is the first McFarlane Toys giveaway for any Major
League Baseball team and marks the figure debut of A-Rod in a Yankees uniform.
Both A-Rod and Jeter will be in pinstripes.
"We are looking forward to providing something new for young Yankees fans,"
said Todd McFarlane. "And free stuff that happens to commemorate the team captain and
their newest superstar is a great way to do that."
Debbie Tymon, the Yankees' Vice President of Marketing, said "The Yankees are
excited to be the first in the Majors to partner with McFarlane Toys for an
in-stadium promotion. We wanted a unique item and having this specially created
two-pack of figures is a great way to both honor Derek and Alex as well as start
a new tradition at Yankee Stadium for our fans."
McFarlane Toys recently announced another stadium-exclusive promotion with the
Houston Rockets, featuring a 3-inch Yao Ming to be given away in April at the
