Upper Deck Entertainment and The Konami Corporation Give First-Look of
Never-Before-Seen Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Exclusive Packs at World Championship Event
in July

Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Exclusive Pack to be Released Nationwide August 8 in
Conjunction with Movie Premiere
Yu-Gi-Oh! fans will now have a chance to take a sneek-peek at the
never-before-seen Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Exclusive Pack as Upper Deck and the Konami
Corporation today announce today plans to release the new trading card set to
event goers at the upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship event. The
exclusive pack will be available for sale at the event on July 25 in the
Anaheim Convention Center in California. The cards will be released
nationally in conjunction with the upcoming Warner Bros. production,
"Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Movie" in August.
The eight-card set is playable with previously released cards and
in tournaments, and, consists five Common cards and three Ultra Rare
cards. This is the only set that will feature signature monster of Anubis,
and additional monsters, and cards, featured in the movie.
"Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Movie" takes place after the conclusion of the Battle
City Tournament, where deep below the sands of Egypt, an ancient evil
has awakened. Anubis, who was defeated centuries ago by Yugi's mysterious
alter ego - the ancient Pharaoh - has returned for revenge. Wielding the
power of the Eighth Millennium Item, Anubis is determined to destroy Yugi and
take over the world! "Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Movie" is a production of Warner Bros.
in association with 4Kids Entertainment, Shueisha, TV Tokyo and Nihon AD-Systems.
Earlier this year, Upper Deck Entertainment added major retail outlets to the
growing list of tournament locations across North America, such as Toys R Us,
Wal-Mart, Hastings, Books-A-Million, and Meijer retail and hobby outlets, to
host weekly Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME Duelist Leagues, where promotional
and exclusive cards are awarded. To date, there are over 5,000 retail and
hobby stores hosting weekly tournaments in which over 600,000 people
participate.
During the game, players duel each other by summoning monsters and activating
spell and trap cards. Using a Starter Deck and/or booster sets, Duelists
collect cards to play their hands against other duelists. Duelists with
well-constructed Decks, powerful monsters, solid strategy and a little good
fortune are the winners in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME.
