Pacific to Sponsor NHL Draft
4th Annual Draft Collectibles Show Among Highlights
Pacific Trading Cards will be hosting the fourth annual Pacific Hockey Card
Show at the NHL Entry Draft.
This year's show will take place Saturday and Sunday June 26-27 at the RBC
Center in Raleigh, home of the Carolina Hurricanes. Pacific has created
special game-used All-Star Game net cards specifically for the event, as
well as a special parallel version of their Calder Reflections insert set
from Calder Hockey. Pacific is also giving fans a chance to have their
picture on a digital hockey card, either by themselves or with Pacific NHL
Draft spokeswomen Tracy Brooks from TNA Wrestling and Stephanie the zany
sports lady from www.zanysportslady.com
and the Tony Bruno Morning Extravaganza on Fox Sports Radio.
There will also be NHL players signing autographs with the line-up of stars
to be announced.
"It will be a great event for hockey fans and collectors," said Pacific VP
of Marketing Jeffrey Morris. "Fans get an opportunity to see and experience
the draft from a great perspective, as well as the chance to meet more than
a hundred of the NHL players of tomorrow. If you are an autograph collector,
or a card collector, or just a hockey fan, it is a really fun weekend for
everyone."
Last year's event drew 14,000 people to the Gaylord Entertainment Center in
Nashville. Pacific expects another strong turnout in Raleigh.
"It is a good event for Pacific and the trading card collecting industry
because of the exposure we get - locally, nationally and internationally.
Pacific's logo will be on the draft stage and as the event is televised on
ESPN in the United States, TSN in Canada and throughout Europe, hockey fans
will see the Pacific logo as each player takes the stage. Card collecting is
centered around rookies, and tying the rookies into trading cards on a
national stage is great for us, and great for the industry."
Pacific has elevated its wrapper redemption plans for the draft this year.
The company has created three All-Star Game-Used net cards for the event,
each with two players. The cards are numbered to 250 and feature the
pairings of Rick Nash-Ilya Kovalchuk, Martin St. Louis-Joe Sakic and Martin
Brodeur-Marty Turco.
The first 250 fans to buy boxes of Pacific hockey cards and open them at the
Pacific corporate booth will receive one set of three All-Star Game-Used Net
cards, as well as a set of Calder Reflections cards from Calder Hockey,
numbered to 499. Both are available while supplies last.
Collectors can also get one random Calder Reflections card by purchasing
three Pacific packs at the show.
Fans can also get their own picture on a Pacific hockey card for the draft,
either by themselves or with Pacific Draft spokeswomen Tracy Brooks from TNA
Wrestling and Stephanie from www.zanysportslady.com
and the Tony Bruno Morning Extravaganza. The ladies will also be autographing these photos.
