Upper Deck Creates National TV Spot to Support Popular Trading Card Game

New York-Based Posnick + Advertising, Inc. Provides Creative For :15 Spot

Upper Deck Entertainment along with Posnick + Advertising, Inc., have joined forces to create a national television spot designed to introduce youngsters to the widely popular Marvel Trading Card Game (TCG).

The high-energy :15 spot begins high over New York city’s skyline as Spider-ManTM and his arch nemesis Doctor OctopusTM square off to battle, then cuts away to kids playing the newly released Marvel TCG. The television commercial, created jointly with Posnick + Advertising, a full service New York boutique, will begin airing nationally the week of June 14 for four weeks on Nickelodeon and the Cartoon Network.

"We feel that through the use of television, we are able to effectively reach today's youth," said Kristy Watson, advertising manager for Upper Deck. "This commercial was specifically designed to show off the amazing Spider-Man and villainous Doctor Octopus from Marvel Comics’ huge library of characters as well as get youngsters excited to play Upper Deck Entertainment’s Marvel Trading Card Game."

The Marvel TCG allows players to assume the identities of their favorite Super Heroes® from the Marvel universe as they wage head-to-head battle against each other. Additionally, The Marvel TCG incorporates high-strategy gameplay, evolving game mechanics, and an extensive national organized play support system.
