NHL Legends and 12-Inch Action Figure Photography

The time is drawing near, hockey fans. The long-awaited NHL Legends line of action figures is
nearing completion. Given our company's close association with the National Hockey League, a
line of legendary hockey players has been high on the must-do list for several years.
The deal was finalized in 2004 -- though the baseball Cooperstown Collection managed to get on
the schedule first -- and McFarlane Toys is proud to present its first series of classic hockey
action figures.
The legendary players in this line represent several eras of modern hockey. Each is sculpted in
an action pose with accurate period uniforms and equipment. They are:
- WAYNE GRETZKY, center, Edmonton Oilers
- WAYNE GRETZKY, center, Los Angeles Kings
- GERRY CHEEVERS, goalie, Boston Bruins
- FRANK MAHOVLICH, left wing, Toronto Maple Leafs
- YVAN COURNOYER, right wing, Montreal Canadiens
Each figure in the line features a unique sculpt, including both Gretzky figures; the Kings version
captures the moment-in-time when he broke Gordie Howe's all-time points record.
Both 12-inch NHL Legends figures feature The Great One, but in two different uniforms:
The Kings 12-inch is the same sculpt as the 6-inch, while the Oilers 12-inch features yet
a third different pose.
Both the 6- and 12-inch NHL Legends figures are set for a September release. Until then, enjoy
the photography.
