Rusty Wallace Lights Up the NASCAR Busch Series - Veteran Driver Makes His Return to NASCAR®’s Other Circuit with Sponsor Duraflame, Inc.

Rusty Wallace No. 66 Duraflame Dodge Car In cooperation with Rusty Wallace Racing, Action Performance Companies Inc. today unveiled a new No. 66 Duraflame Dodge car featuring a specialty "reverse" paint scheme.

NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series veteran Rusty Wallace, the owner of the No. 66 Duraflame Dodge, will drive the reverse paint scheme race car during two NASCAR Busch Series races at Michigan International Speedway on August 21 and Phoenix International Raceway on Nov. 6, 2004. He will be taking over driving duties in lieu of the team’s current driver, Jamie McMurray, who has prior commitments for those two events.

This season marked Wallace’s return as a NASCAR Busch Series team owner since he initially fielded a team for his brother, Kenny Wallace, from 1989 to 1991. The race at Michigan will be Wallace’s first time behind the wheel of a NASCAR Busch Series race car since the 300-mile event at California Speedway on Oct. 19, 1997.

Action Performance, the leader in the design, promotion, marketing and distribution of licensed motorsports merchandise, will produce die-cast replicas of the No. 66 Duraflame/Reverse Dodge as a special collectible for Rusty Wallace fans. The cars will be available in a variety of collector scales.

"Anytime Rusty Wallace gets behind the wheel of a race car, something exciting happens. He just knows how to handle a hot rod," said Fred W. Wagenhals, Action Performance’s chairman, president and CEO. "The two NASCAR Busch Series races at Michigan and Phoenix will give NASCAR fans the chance to see Rusty in a different element. Additionally, I think it will be a learning experience for the up-and-coming drivers on the series, who will have a rare opportunity to hone their skills against one of the best drivers in stock car racing."

The No. 66 Duraflame/Reverse Dodge, as well as other Rusty Wallace die-cast collectibles and memorabilia, is available through Action Performance’s usual distribution channels, including the 16-member Action Racing Collectables distributor network and the Racing Collectables Club of America.
