AFLAC All-American High School Baseball Classic Announces Topps Baseball Cards as
Official Sponsor
Sports America, Inc. of Rockville, Maryland, has announced an agreement with The
Topps Company, Inc. to be a national sponsor of the 2004 AFLAC All-American High
School Baseball Classic, which will take place on Friday, August 6, 2004 at Ripken
Stadium in Aberdeen, Md. This baseball showcase features the nation's top 40 rising
senior players in an East vs. West match-up and will be televised nationally on
FOX Sports Net on Sunday, August 8 (Check your local listings). All proceeds will
benefit the division of Pediatric Oncology at Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Cancer
Center.

All-American Classic," said Sports America, Inc. President & CEO Robert J.
Geoghan. "Topps has been a part of our national pastime for over 50 years
so we are proud to align ourselves with the leader in baseball cards and look

In addition to its official sponsorship, Topps will also present four outstanding
performers with The Topps Player of the Game. Two pitchers and two position players
(one from each team) will receive the prestigious award.
Topps also sponsors annual awards honoring Major League rookies, minor league players
and baseball scouts.
Founded in 1938 as Topps Chewing Gum, Topps issued its first baseball cards in 1951

Official selection partners Baseball America and Perfect Game USA choose players to
be AFLAC All-Americans for their accomplishments both on, and off the field, including
involvement in the community.
The inaugural AFLAC Baseball Classic (2003) featured 31 AFLAC All-Americans who were
selected in June's Major League Baseball Draft, including four top-10 picks and 10
players selected in the first round.
