Fleer Signs Dwyane Wade to Exclusive Spokesman Deal
Deal with Miami Star to Include Autographs and Game-Used Memorabilia Cards
Fleer Trading Cards has announced an exclusive trading card deal with Miami Heat standout Dwyane Wade.
The contract, effective immediately, will allow Fleer to utilize Wade for autographed cards, along with
game-used memorabilia cards for the 2004-05 NBA season.
"We are pleased and honored to be associated with a player of Dwyane Wade's caliber," said
Fleer spokesman Joshua Perlman. "This signing is just another example of our resurgence and
recommitment to the hobby and our product lines."
Wade averaged 16.2 points in his rookie campaign, which made him the highest scoring rookie in Heat
franchise history. In the NBA Playoffs, Wade electrified fans and is among only three NBA rookies in
history to lead his team in points per game (18.0) and assists per game (5.6) in a single postseason.
Additionally, Wade trails only David Robinson as the top rookie playoff scorer since 1984.
"Joining forces with Fleer is a thrill and I am excited about the prospects to come," said
Dwyane Wade. "As one of the leading manufacturers in the trading card industry, I am certain that
we will accomplish great things together as we look towards the future."
Along with autographs and game-used memorabilia cards, Wade will also be featured on selected Fleer
NBA packaging, sales and advertising materials. He will also make an appearance on Fleer's behalf.
Details of this appearance will be announced at a later date.
"Our NBA heritage dates back to the historic 1986 Fleer NBA set and has continued throughout the
years to include the likes of Vince Carter and our Vinsanity collection," said Perlman. "We
are extremely excited about the addition of Dwyane Wade and the aspects he can contribute to our
NBA products."
