Strictly for Race Fans - Action Performance Opens Its Doors for Fan Appreciation Days
Action Performance Companies Inc., the leader in licensed motorsports merchandise, today announced
details concerning its second annual Fan Appreciation Days, hosted at the company’s Concord, N.C.
location. This year, the event will be a two-day affair, starting on Wednesday, October 13 until
Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004. Doors will open at 8 a.m. on both days.
Action’s Fan Appreciation Days fall before the NASCAR® race weekend at nearby Lowe’s® Motor Speedway.
Each day will include a full slate of events, including autograph sessions with notable NASCAR personalities,
showcar and tour trailer exhibitions, door prizes, giveaways and special discounts at Action’s on-site Pit
Stop Shop retail store. To date, the autograph sessions are scheduled as follows:
Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004:
10 a.m. – 11 a.m.: Kasey Kahne, NASCAR NEXTEL Cup rookie and driver of the No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge.
Noon – 1 p.m.: Martin Truex Jr., driver of the No. 8 Chance 2 Motorsports Chevrolet and current NASCAR Busch
Series points leader, and Kelley Earnhardt Elledge, of Chance 2 Motorsports.
1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Joe Nemechek, driver of the No. 01 U.S. Army Chevrolet.
Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004:
9 a.m. – 10 a.m.: Kevin Harvick, driver of the No. 29 GM Goodwrench Chevrolet
10:00 – 11 a.m.: Robby Gordon, driver of the No. 31 Cingular Wireless Chevrolet, and Ron Hornaday, driver of the
No. 2 ACDelco Chevrolet.
11:00 a.m. – Noon: Brendan Gaughan, NASCAR NEXTEL Cup rookie and driver of the No. 77 KODAK Racing Dodge.
Noon – 1 p.m.: Kerry Earnhardt, driver of the No. 33 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet.
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.: Rusty Wallace, driver of the No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge.
Tickets for each autograph session will be limited to 200 and will be dispensed on a first-come, first-served
basis. The first 200 people in line each morning will be eligible to receive session tickets. In addition to a
standard one-hour autograph session, Nemechek also will pose for photos with a U.S. Army/G.I. Joe 40th Anniversary
Monster Truck from 2-3 p.m. on October 13.
Visitors also will be able see stock cars from the No. 2 Miller Lite, No. 20 The Home Depot and No. 38 M&M’S® Brand
Racing teams.
Additionally, Fan Appreciation Days will host fun and games for children, complete with a "carnival midway"
of kiddie rides, face painting, food, Monster Truck displays and more. For fans who crave adventure, hot air balloon
rides also will be on site.
Action’s Fan Appreciation Day will take place at the company’s offices located at 6301 Performance Drive, a quarter-mile
southeast of Lowe’s® Motor Speedway in Concord. Admission and parking for Fan Appreciation Days are free.
