"Turn Back the Clock" Weekend Highlights Celebration

Topps Football 50th Anniversary With the release of 2005 Topps Football this July, The Topps Company will celebrate 50 legendary years of producing football trading cards.

From Johnny Unitas, Jim Brown and Walter Payton to Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger and Brett Favre, Topps has captured the action on the gridiron for the past 50 years like no other. And this year, Topps will celebrate by offering one of the best football sets yet and give collectors and fans the chance to purchase a pack of trading cards for the price of a pack in 1956 - a NICKEL!

Here is just a sampling of what Topps Football has in store for 2005:

*July 11th, 2005 - The release of 2005 Topps Football. This beautifully designed set celebrates today's heroes and offers a retrospective of the past 50 years. The 440-card base set includes 3 parallels - Topps 50th Platinum, Gold & Black Bordered. For the inserts, "Throwbacks" fuses active players with classic Topps designs from the past 50 years, while "Golden Anniversary" includes the greatest football players from the past 50 years. There are a number of autograph programs featuring the likes of Joe Montana, Joe Namath and John Elway and many more NFL legends and superstars. Also, a 50th Anniversary Team has been named and each player has teamed with Topps to pen his signature to an exquisite inert set. Once again, Topps offers its exclusive Super Bowl and Pro Bowl Relic Cards. To top it off, each box will include a commemorative 50th Anniversary card in Topps Tribute technology. Each 10-card pack of 2005 Topps carries a $1.59 SRP.

*September 10th-11th - NFL's Kick-Off weekend has been designated "Topps Turn Back The Clock" weekend. On these two days, card collecting is going old school, because fans and collectors will be able to walk into their local participating hobby shop and purchase a special pack of Topps 50th Anniversary trading cards for the price of a pack in 1956 - a NICKEL!

*Card of the Week - This 17-week program features an all-new exclusive Topps 50th Anniversary 17-card set highlighting a different NFL superstar each week.
