attendees at Wednesday’s Sneak Peek will have the opportunity to get a free autograph from the guest
signers while time permits, courtesy of Donruss/Playoff. The Donruss/Playoff Sneak Peek will be open
to the public on Wednesday, July 27. For tickets or information on this and other 26th National activities,

Appearing at the Sneak Peek will be one athlete from each of the major sports who made headlines in
Chicago.
Representing Baseball is Cubs Hall of Famer Ferguson Jenkins. "Fergie" Jenkins had 6 straight
20-win seasons for the Cubs beginning in 1967 on his way to 284 career wins. Jenkins won the 1971 Cy
Young Award and was elected to Cooperstown in 1991.
From the sport of Basketball comes Chicago’s own Johnny "Red" Kerr. After a great High School
career in Chicago, Kerr played his college ball at the University of Illinois. In the pros, Kerr was the
NBA’s Iron Man, setting a then NBA record by playing in 844 consecutive games from 1954-1965. Following
his retirement, "Red" was named the first-ever coach of the Chicago Bulls in 1967. Despite
working with an expansion franchise, Kerr guided that team to a playoff berth and was named NBA Coach
of the Year. Kerr is still active as a Bulls broadcaster.
William "Refrigerator" Perry represents Football. As the Bears first round pick in 1985, the
Fridge immediately became a fan favorite not only for his defensive prowess but also because Coach Ditka
used him as a short-yardage specialist when the Bears had the ball. Perry scored a running TD in Super Bowl
XX to help the Bears win the NFL Championship.
Finally, Black Hawk Great Pierre Pilote represents Hockey. A feared defenseman, Pilote was captain of the
Black Hawks Stanley Cup Champions of 1961. Pierre won the Norris Trophy as the NHL’s best defenseman in
three consecutive seasons (1963-1965) and was inducted into the Hall of Fame is 1975.
