$10,000 To "Vintage Dealer of the Year"
$1,000 Prize for Vintage Buyer Who Spends the Most
Vintage Memorabilia Madness comes to the sports collectibles industry AGAIN as NAXCOM.com, the leading
sports collectibles online marketplace, introduces the NAXCOM.com Vintage Invitational 2 (VI:2), presented
by PSA, Old Cardboard and MJ Roop Archivers. The 32-competitor tournament will pit the top dealers of
vintage sports memorabilia against each other in a double-elimination sales competition from June 6 through
early February 2006 with a grand prize of $10,000 and $2,500 going to the second place finisher, $500 each
to the third and fourth place finishers. Plus, a $1,000 prize to the Buyer who purchases the most during
the contest.
The NAXCOM.COM Vintage Invitational leverages the renewed interest in the memorabilia of yesterday's sports
legends. While dealers rack up sales, it will be collectors that truly benefit as hundreds of items each week
will be "priced to move" by the competing dealers looking to advance to the next round and a chance
to win $10,000. Last year's inaugural Vintage Invitational was a huge success with Memory Lane Inc. narrowly
defeating McAvoy Sportcards in the finals. This year is poised to be even better as it boasts the best Vintage
dealer line-up ever and each of them out to dethrone Memory Lane, Inc. and win $10,000.
"There has never been anything like the Vintage Invitational in this industry," noted Eric Beckerman,
CEO of NAXCOM.com. "Last year was a huge success and this year is poised to be even better. It has clearly
established NAXCOM.com as the place to go for vintage sports memorabilia. And, it's great for collectors because
of the massive amount of highly sought after material priced to sell."
"PSA is proud to support this exciting contest again and to lend its name to the innovative ideas NAXCOM is
bringing to the industry," said Joe Orlando, PSA President. "This competition will serve Vintage
collectors by igniting interest in the great items being offered, will get them used to going to the NAXCOM site,
and will open the doors for dealers to reach new customers. In that sense, the industry is well served, and PSA
is pleased to be a part of it."
About NAXCOM:
In late 2001, NAXCOM, one of the country's largest promoters of Sports & Collectible Shows, launched a Bid/Ask
Collectibles Marketplace modeled after the stock market. The NAXCOM marketplace boasts narrow bid/ask spreads resulting
in true market prices, giving consumers the confidence in their purchase price. With no monthly, membership or listing
fees and buyer protection guaranteed with every transaction; NAXCOM has been able to attract over 90,000 registered
users with over 3.5 Million Listings and 420,000 items sold in three years.
In addition to their online Marketplace, NAXCOM has also been promoting the largest Sports Card & Memorabilia Trade-Shows
in Southern California since 1989 and started a National tour this year including the following cities: Hawaii, Kansas City,
Denver, Los Angeles and San Jose with plans for new venues in new cities to be announced soon. NAXCOM's trade shows and
online marketplace are very similar, whereby NAXCOM is neither the buyer nor the seller, but rather the venue where
businesses and individuals meet to buy and sell merchandise. NAXCOM's commitment to customer service and its experience
in bringing buyers and sellers together is unparalleled in the collectibles industry.
