NBA Superstar Dwyane Wade Highlights Chicago/Illinois High School Legends Reunion
Dwyane Wade, fresh from leading the Miami Heat to the Eastern Conference Finals, will headline a large
contingent of former Illinois schoolboys signing at the 26th National Sports Collectors Convention. Wade's
27.4 ppg average in the NBA Playoffs exceeded his regular season output of 24.1. The Chicagoland native who
played two years at Marquette after graduating from Richards HS (Oaklawn IL) will appear on Saturday, July 30.
Joining Wade will be a group of other high school legends who made their names as players in the Chicago/Illinois
area. Darius Miles (Portland Trailblazers) played high school ball at Lincoln in East St. Louis, IL. Miles had
his best year in 2004-05 averaging nearly 13 ppg and 5 rebounds. Quentin Richardson (Phoenix Suns) had another
solid season in 2004-05 averaging nearly 15 ppg with over 6 boards. Richardson left DePaul early for the NBA Draft
after starring at Whitney Young HS in Chicago.
Corey Maggette is also a local favorite, playing at Fenwick High School in Oak Park before going on to Duke.
Maggette has led the Clippers in scoring averaging over 20 ppg the last two years. Andre Iguodala comes off a
solid NBA rookie year averaging nearly 10 ppg while starting all 82 games for the Sixers. Andre played at University
of Arizona after starring at Lanphier HS in Springfield, IL. Tony Allen who starred at Crane HS in Chicago had a
tremendous rookie season for the Boston Celtics appearing in 77 games. He managed to average 6.4 ppg in only 16
minutes per game. Frank Williams played for the Bulls in 2004-05 after two seasons with the Knicks. Frank played
for the Fighting Illini after completing his high school career in Peoria Manual High School.
Adding to the Illinois flavor is a rare appearance by University of Illinois Head Basketball Coach Bruce Webber.
Webber guided the Illini to an NCAA Championship Game appearance.
Individual Tickets and High School Legends Super Tickets for all of these Illinois basketball greats will be
available on the National web site.
