Those requirements were: Had to have played at least one game for the Avalanche in regular or postseason, had to be pictured in the Avalanche uniform on the card (some exceptions made for Nordiques players for the 95-96 season)snowblink

Once I had that list the additional burden of locating possible cards became the real task. Often times a card would seem to fit the bill, until I got firsthand info on the card itself indicating the player was pictured in another jersey. One of the reasons I think card older card data should be updated to include team info.snowblink

It was often surprising to note players who never got a card picturing them with the team, even if their tenure spanned several seasons. On the opposite end there were those players who only suited up for a single game, but had a card...snowblink

Fortunately, there were gracious collectors who donated cards who hadn't received the noted BV reductions that any collector who followed the game would realize for RC's in particular, particularly for those players who disappeared from the NHL following a vaunted speculative market.snowblink

As it stands right now, I think I have every card for this project. I haven't included Roy or Bourque in these files yet, partially because they retired in the Avalanche uniform, and partially on the note they are a couple of my favorite players.snowblink

There are a few players though where it really did surprise me they didn't end up with an Avs card. I think that speaks ill of the manufacture these days of the hockey card. It seems that there should be a wider respect for the fan, by not including only the same set of players in each issue, and making a point of including a card for every player on the team that season.snowblink
